David Cahoon provides telecom support for the House of Representatives which include engineering and management support for various locations within the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). David has over 35 years of telecommunication and IT systems and teams experience.
David began his career building DMS switching systems for Northern Telecom (Nortel) in 1984. He spent twelve years in various roles within the manufacturing, testing, engineering, and customer support services role at Nortel’s Raleigh, North Carolina Operations Area. After working at Nortel David worked at Nextel providing SS7 support and lab engineering support. After working in private industry he transitioned into the public sector as a Supervisory Telecommunications Specialist with the Federal Marshal Service, continuing Telecom management support role with USGS and again with SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance. This included all facets of Telecommunications from radio systems management, LAN/WAN, voice, video, and AV support.
